Robert Toro Acosta Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Acosta was born on September 15, 1965, in El Barrio, NY to Frank and Ramonita Acosta. He leaves behind his brother, Marcos Acosta, extended family and friends. He was raised as a Presbyterian Christian and attended Fort Washington Presbyterian Church for most of his life.
In his youth, Bobby was always independent and enjoyed doing things on his own. He loved to ride bike and as an older teen learned how to roller blade and swim in deep water. In 1985, he graduated from Julia Richmond High School. He also worked in the family business and after graduating High School, went on to work as a contractor for the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation where he worked for several years.
Bobby reveled in simple pleasures and was a kid at heart. In his free time, he loved watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees both on screen and at the ballfield. He loved watching Saturday morning cartoons, especially Scooby Doo, and loved to collect Hess trucks and comic books. His favorite comic book character was Superman.
Family was so important to Bobby. He adored his siblings and parents with whom lived with most of his life. In his later years, he helped care for his mother until her death in 2016. His greatest love though was for his niece and nephew, Jennifer and Christian.
Bobby was even lucky enough to meet his great nephew, Jesse.
Of the many things that we will remember about Bobby, one of the things that stands out is what a sweet soul he was. His loving and endearing ways were enough to brighten anyone's day. His embrace could fill your heart and warm your spirit. His legacy lies not in monetary gains or accolades, but in the lives he touched.
May we always carry on this legacy--the laughter, the resilience, and the unwavering love. May he live on in our hearts forever.
