Delores Brown, beloved mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Aunt, & friend, peacefully passed away on 10/20/2025 around 7:30 AM inside the facility of Peace Care St. Anns in Jersey City, NJ.
Born on 12/29/1955, Delores was the daughter of Helen Brown, had 5 siblings, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Teresa, Betty & Michael . She came from the Bronx, NY where she finished High School then went to Bronx Community College to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing studies ended early but then worked as a High School security officer for a number of years at George Washington High that ended in retirement due to knee injury. She worked for a few more years at a small day care center of Kingsbridge till she called it quits.
Throughout her life, Delores was a source of unwavering love, strength, and guidance to her family and friends. She was married once in her lifetime and raised her kids as a single mother for a countless number of years. She was a very humble individual in our society and made sure everyone was good before herself. She loved her mother dearly and all her siblings. She had an abundance of family all throughout NY that extended and started in the South.
As the years grew on she raised her sons to the best of her ability, Loved her granddaughter Katrina with all heart and never gave up on any of us. She was always there for the entire family throughout all the emergencies. She was the life of a party (OOOWWWWW). Also amazing cook throughout the years and holidays. We all love Delores, she will truly be missed at the age of 69, gone too soon. She liked to play bingo, spades, dominoes, loved the TV station as well as all the drama and suspense, SVU a good comedy show with her family, and AMC movies that she loved to go with us as a whole. She tried extremely hard to hold as long as she could for us and we love her for it.
A funeral Service to honor and celebrate Delores’s life will be held at First Avenue Funeral Service located at 349 E 116th St, New York, NY 10029. The time of the service will be in the afternoon hours on 11/1/2025. Friends and family are all invited to attend to pay their respects and share their memories.
