Lourdes Acevedo, 67, of Bronx, New York, died peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on December 22nd, 2025. She was born in Manhattan, New York in 1958 to Carmen and David Acevedo.
As one of eight siblings and the youngest daughter, she brought her brothers and sisters endless laughter and joy. A loving mother and grandmother, she adored her family and thrived on creating memory making moments during each birthday, holiday, spring break, summer vacation and every day in between. Lourdes carried this natural charm and charisma into her interactions with each and every person she came across, making everyone feel like family. She was a lover of music, discovering music festivals across all five boroughs to hear salsa bands, finding her way to every dance floor and gaining a dance partner or two along the way.
Lourdes was preceded in death by her father David, brother William “Papo,” and niece Taina. She is survived by her mother, Carmen; daughters, Lillian and Bernice; grandchildren, Joslynn and James; son-in-law, Jeff; siblings, David, Richard, Wilson, Orlando, Elizabeth, and Yvette; dog, Violet; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on December 28 & 29th, 2025.
