Marie Solange Nelson, born in Aux Cayes, Haiti, on January 12th, 1962, peacefully left us on December 29th, 2025, at Casa Promesa Hospice Center after a courageous battle with cancer. In her pursuit of a better life, Solange ventured from Haiti to Venezuela, where she built a life for herself and welcomed her only beloved daughter, Vicky. A few years later, she traveled to the United States to embark on a new chapter.
Solange was a hard worker and held various jobs to support her family. It was in her role as a Home Health Attendant that Solange's gifts began to shine as she cared for people, offering compassion and support to those in need. Solange's dedication to care extended beyond her work, as she actively participated in her community and church, always ready to lend a helping hand. She found joy in ensuring the well-being and happiness of those around her.
Solange is survived by her daughter, Vicky Octelene, son-in-law Emmanuel Octelene, and her three cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Gabriella, and Samuel. She also leaves behind her siblings: Claudette, Sorel, Gorel, and Jerson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear family and friends. Let us remember Solange for her strong faith in God, her kindness, strength, and compassion towards those she loved and cared for. May her memory continue to inspire us all.
