Born on January 25, 1951. Born to Enobia Barnes and "Sandy" Manning both parents has passed on. She was the oldest daughter out of 5 siblings. She has 4 sisters, 2 have passed on remaining sibling are Arthur and Immacula Barnes. Rosarii was born in Harlem Hospital she was a true New Yorker. She attended elementary school in Harlem (PS.46). She eventually received her G.E.D. which she was so proud of herself. In her early years she lived in Brooklyn, Flushing Avenue, St John's place. She went on to meet Alexander "Butchy " Sherrod; where they had two daughters, Shaundre and Kinya. Even thou Rosarii was a single mother, she had help from her mother, and siblings. Her baby sister penny was always there to help. In addition, her help also came from her children's fathers' family as well, especially Denise who always had us over with loving arms. She later moved to Fredrick Douglas Houses in late 70's where she lived the rest of her days. Becoming a 2nd mom to many; Working tenant patrol, poll worker; taking kids to school, taking care special need's children, Being a counselor, career path consultant. She was a beautiful spirt, we will never forget OUR mother, sister, aunty, godmother friend and may you forever rest in Paradise. Her favorite group was Earth Wind & Fire, Whispers. She loved Law & Order, and she always taught us to learn something new from everything TV Shows, books and people. Fun Fact to share my Mom & Dad went to Baltimore, MD and eloped as teenagers with the approval of Grandma Irene. However, when Enobia found out what had happened she swiftly shut it down, She Loved Love.
She was a Native New Yorker a true New York City Girl. She Always said I’m never leaving New York Her greatest contribution to LIFE was caring for others.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Shaundre' Sherrod and Kinya-Sherrod-Baxter, her 2 siblings, brother Arthur Barnes and sister Immaculate Barnes. Her "Son in law Jonathan Baxter. Grandchildren Tania Tavarez, James Poole, Terrence "boob" Neal and Kiah Neal. Grandchildren: Amiah Neal, Aviela Neal, Life Neal, unborn female Neal. Living cousins: Anthony Blair, Arvell Harris, Andrea Tarrant, also a host of adopted daughters, nieces, nephews, Jose Tavarez and Terry Neal.
