Violeta Thornhill

Ms. Violeta “Vicky” Thornhill, age 70, departed this life in Bronx, NY on Friday, May 30, 2025. 

Vicky was born on July 31, 1954 in Colon, Panama to the parents of Eric Thornhill Sr. & Merinda Hanson (both deceased).  She became a resident of the United States in 1964, where she settled in Bronx, NY. 

Vicky was a member of the Cadettes in Colon, Panama serving the community and helping those in need. She attended Taft High School in Bronx, New York earning her High School diploma in 1972. She used her talented skills, to work as a dedicated industrial worker in the manufacturing industry. 

Vicky was a beacon of a true gem, radiating warmth and kindness to everyone she knew. She was a wise counselor, always offering her words of wisdom.  She had a nurturing spirit for her family and friends, which she showed with unwavering love. Her love will forever be etched in our hearts, as we cherish the memories of her hilarious stories, infectious singing, humble spirit and two finger PEACE sign. She is gone, but never will be forgotten…. “Peace” Vicky, until we meet again.  

Vicky leaves to mourn sisters Constancia Richards, Lilla Richards, Herma Richards & brother, Terry Richards. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Fambro-Thornhill stepping in to care for nieces Nicole & Earl Walker Jr., Tamika & Casper Niles Jr., Tasha Thornhill-Santiago (deceased). Mourning also, nieces Elaine Gilliard, Taisha Richards, Constancia Richards, Charise Richards, Terry Richards, Merinda Richards, Sheneequa Richards, Lena Richards, Shanta Gilliard & Ophelia Fambro; nephews Mobutu Thornhill, John Ogedengbe, Demetrius Ogedengbe, Sylvester Ogedengbe, Christopher Cooper, Donald Jones Jr., Montest Jones;  great nieces & great nephews Patricia Arevalo, Kyaisa Thornhill, Tremaine Smith, Molaisa Thornhill, Makenna McMillan, Donte Alvarez, Casper Niles III, Delonte Niles, Londyn Santiago, Sanai Ogedengbe, Savannah Ogedengbe, Jordyn Clark, Aniya-Lee Clark, Cherish Rodriguez, Destiny Rodriguez, Pharell Richards, Kareem Ba, Beyonce Ba, Ashanti Richards, Paris Francis, Prince Francis, Dashay Daniels, John Daniels, Diamond Daniels, Justin Richards, Dorothy Cornelius, Amirah Richie, Jasiah Richie, Keianna Esaw, Andre Fambro, Shakeya Washington, Braylon Jones, Zakeya Jones, Eternity Jones, Amir Jones, Joshua Mayse, Marvin Mayse, Nevaeh Lattimore, Stephen Raheem Richards & Larry Johnson; extended relatives, friends & others who genuinely cared for her. 

She was preceded in death by her siblings Eric Thornhill Jr., Patricia Thornhill, James Langley & Calito Thornhill.
