Wilfred Ingram

Wilfred Ingram was born on February 12th, 1950 in Harlem, New York to the parents of Wilfred Ingram and Dorothy Bell Ingram. He grew up in Harlem along with his siblings Inez, Sharon, and cousin Tiny. Wilfred received his education from the New York Public School system. During his enrollment at George Washington High School, Wilfred played football, basketball, and baseball. He also enjoyed activities like calisthenics and cycling. Upon graduating from George Washington High School,  Wilfred would find employment at the Post Office, where he worked as a mail clerk. While Wilfred was employed at the Post Office, he began his quest to know himself. During this time, Wilfred would begin to take classes at the Tree of Life Bookstore & U.C.L.A, which stands for the University Corner of Lenox Avenue located in the heart of Harlem. He would take courses on metaphysics, astrology, herbology, health & nutrition. He would later adopt these teachings into his lifestyle. Eventually, Wilfred would decide to leave the Post Office after a few years and continue his studies. During this time, he would begin to engage in a relationship with a childhood friend name Stella, who he met at the Rangel Houses. From this union, they conceived forth their first child, Wilreno Nelson Ingram. Although they never married, they still maintained a friendship and understanding. During his hiatus from steady employment, he would work odd jobs. Eventually, he would find employment at The Lawyers Travel Service as a courier, where he worked for several of years. Finally, his last employer was with ProTravel, as he worked there for several of years until he retired.  During this course of his life, Wilfred was a known to be that person who was willing and able to help out his family, friends, and co-workers. Wilfred had the capacity to electrify the room with his smile, charisma, and dance moves. He was truly a music enthusiast who enjoyed different genres of music. He would have intimate gatherings at his home whereby people would come through and enjoy themselves being filled with good energy. He will always be remembered as my Pops, Uncle Brother, Will, the man, the legend who always greeted you with a genuine smile and vibrant energy.  Wilfred has been preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Ingram & Dorothy Bell, sister, Inez Ingram, and niece Keya Lyons. Wilfred will leave behind his sister, Sharon Lyons Daniels, his son Wilreno Ingram; Aunt Rosina; nephews: Antoine Ingram, Jordan Daniels, Malik Ingram, DeAngelo Ingram; nieces: Shonda, Kayvonne Lyons, Keisha Lyons, Aishah Ingram; grandchildren: Josiah & Sanai Ingram.
